The flowers on this bush have turned out much less exciting than I expected. With that lovely deep pink on the buds at least a lovely deep pink flower could have followed?
Spring is coming too early, the pundits say, and insects and other small wild creatures are in danger from cold snaps yet to come. An amazing sight here is the mimosa tree in next door's garden, right by our fence. I've never seen one before, and have always associated mimosa with the mediterranean, and Australia. What is it doing flowering here in chilly England, in January?

What a wonderful sight I didn't know it grew here., we used to live in Paris and this was the first sign of Spring when the mimosa from the south was in the flower shops.
Lovely photos, Barbara. That rhubarb will be wonderful - one of my favourites! The thought of rhubarb crumble sets my mouth watering....
This is my second attempt so what I said was...
I have to rely on the Wakefield Trangle for my rhubarb and also a son-in-law who sent me 7 Kilos for an early birthday present. I shall be cooking, preserving and freezing this week and trying to find time to finish a piece for our next EG exhibiton at the Macclesfield Museum
