Insane Patchwork

When I joined the StitchingPost yahoo group a few weeks ago various people were mentioning 'sane patchwork / quilting' in their messages. I decided the opposite of that must be insane p& q. Don't feel too sorry for me, my brain works slowly sometimes. Anyway, maybe I'll try some insane patchwork one day (maybe I already do it!) and meanwhile put up a few pics of some Victorian style crazy p.

Japanese style bag, with a drawstring top, with cp blocks and plain.

Lap quilt / throw,16 cp blocks with black velvet border and corner blocks. Its backed with a woven wool shawl and feels cosy round the knees on a draughty winter's day. The colours look a bit odd, strange. Details follow. I had no fabric suitable to bind the edges, so stitched over strips of unsuitable fabric and think I got away with it, maybe. At any rate the stitching distracts a bit.

Wonderful, I don;t think the fabrics are weird at all, the colors are fine...with crazyquilting it;s really a matter of what appeals to you, since the whole point of cq is decoration...do I recognize one of those closeups as the BOI from CQMagonline? This is very very cool that you have something finished.

Yeppers, did it again, put the comment in the wrong place..the lap throw i already talked about, the bag is scrumptious.. i am beginning to get jazzed about making a bag for myself. Maybe it's time to ditch the plain black canvas ones i have been using for years and years.... yours is such an inspiration!

No, its all independent work. Not sure I know what a BOI is! I'll hve to track down CQMag and have a look.

lovely quality pix too.

Not really, Jenny. I was just trying to do something that looked classic Victorian, rich-looking fabrics. These were the colours I had in my stash. Thank you for the kind words about the photos. DH and I were given a new digital one by daughters, and I am excited every time by the quality of the pics
